 | Fire Release, or Katon, is a basic elemental nature transformation which is performed by moulding superheated chakra in the stomach before releasing it through the lungs or mouth. Fire Release consists of mid to long-ranged offensive techniques that cause combustive and explosive damage. | Fire is strong against wind because the air feeds the flames but weak against water because it cools and smothers them.
Fire Release can be used in conjunction with Lightning Release to augment the latter by using the former to alter weather conditions with a sufficiently powerful technique. | Fire release is weakest against the water element as it seemingly extinguishes the flames. | | Wind
 | Wind Release, or Futon, is a basic elemental nature transformation which is performed by making chakra as sharp or thin as possible. Wind Release is mainly short to mid-ranged offensive techniques that combine brute force and keen precision to deal cutting and slashing damage. | Wind is strong against lightning because it is a natural electrical insulator but weak against fire because the flames are fuelled by air.
Wind Release can be used in conjunction with Fire Release to augment the strength of the fire technique. | Wind release is weakest against the fire element as it increases the burning power of it.
| Lightning
 | Lightning Release, or Raiton, is a basic elemental nature transformation which allows the user to generate lightning by increasing the high frequency vibrations of their chakra, allowing for piercing damage and fast movement. When a technique is released from their bodies, and thus not requiring physical contact, it does not move as fast as true lightning. Instead, due to the control the user has to exert over it, it moves far slower, which can give opponents time to still react. | Lightning is strong against earth because it can easily travel through and break the ground apart but weak against wind because it is a natural electrical insulator.
Lightning also has a unique relation with water, since water conducts electricity. This means that a Water Release technique can be used to increase the damage of a Lightning Release technique and vice versa. | Lightning release is weakest against the wind element as it is a natural insulator and lightning has no effect on it. | Earth
 | Earth Release, or Doton, is a basic elemental nature transformation which allows the user to manipulate the surrounding earth for offensive and defensive purposes or create it; be it dirt, mud, or rock. Earth Release techniques have the ability to change the strength and composition of the earth from being as hard as metal to as soft as clay, as well as manipulating their density, making them heavier or lighter. | Earth is strong against water because earth naturally contains water or absorbs water to the point when it becomes muddy then dries up. |
Earth release is weakest against the lightning element as it can easily travel through and break the ground.

 | Water Release, or Suiton, is a basic nature transfromation which allows the user to manipulate pre-existing water, or create their own, by turning their chakra into water. Water Release techniques can not only change shape but state as well allowing it to become moreover solid in the process. | Water is strong against fire because it naturally extinguishes the flames.
Water Release can be used in conjunction with Lightning Release to increase the flow of electricity thus increasing damage taken by the target. | Water release is weakest against the earth element as it naturally absorbs water or already contains it. |
